He retired in early 2006 as CEO of Vega Asset Management which was then one of the world’s largest hedge funds.
Prior to this, Jon held a variety of financial positions in both the United States and Europe, including Managing Director of Bankers Trust Company. His positions there included heading the U.S. Capital Markets Group and deputy head worldwide; head of the Financial Institutions Group; head of the U.S. fixed income sales force. Jon was also a member of the bank’s Transactions Committee. While at BT, Jon was one of the founders of ISDA (known then as the International Swaps and Derivatives Association) and served as an elected board member and was its first treasurer.
Jon served on the board of Hedge Funds Care, a global foundation that provides grants to prevent child abuse and to make the world a safer place for children.
